Does the Program Turn Fat into Muscle?
Contrary to popular belief, you cannot turn fat into muscle. They are made of different cells and composition. However, many people believe it is possible to turn fat into muscle. If you go to a gym, you are likely to encounter two groups of people. One group is lifting light weights and taking long rests, while the other group is lifting very heavy weights, stressing the body and increasing chances of injury over time.
The F4X routine applied in the Old School New Body program establishes a common ground between these two. It requires the use of moderate weights, instead of the normal heavy and light loads. The routine also utilizes short rest periods from one set to the other, which is meant to trigger the release of more growth hormones.
This triggers fat loss, muscle building, and an anti-ageing effect. Growth hormone reduces, as you get older. This is the reason why many people over 30 find it hard to achieve the same results as they did when they were younger. Using the F4X routine for your workouts can give you a surge of growth hormone that will help in better performance, building lean muscle, and a better look overall.
How It Works ?
The method is straightforward and easy to follow. For any particular exercise, choose a weight that you can comfortably lift with good form for about 15 repetitions. However, for the first set, you should only do 10 reps. Rest for around 35 seconds and follow it up with another 10 reps. Do this repeatedly for around 4 sets. For the last step, go all the way, until you feel form will be compromised if you do another set.
It sounds easy and it is, if you do it right. However, the first two steps are easy, as you proceed, fatigue steps in and affects the targeted muscles. As you do the last sets, it will be a challenge, as lactic acid starts burning through your muscles. Additionally, your breathing will be more rapid as if you are doing cardio while blood will be pumped to your muscles.
With this program, you train your muscles for fat burning and exceptional muscle building effects. This is what most people confuse with converting fat into muscle. In real sense, you are using your fat deposits to supply you with energy while muscle building is normally occurring due to generation of new muscle fibres.
